Richard Kode Purcell Sr.

Richard Kode Purcell Sr, 85, of Boaz passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Purcell was a retired railroad conductor and of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the Bridge Street Eagles Club for over 40 years. In his free time, he enjoyed farming.
Surviving is one son, Richard Purcell Jr. of Boaz; one stepdaughter, Jacqualyn Shryock of Bowling Green; one stepson, Billy Myrick of Paducah; one grandson, Todd Bird of Seattle, Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Lane and Whitney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kode and Dorothy Purcell; and one brother, Willis Purcell.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 4, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Trad York officiating. Burial will follow at the Hardmoney Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at the funeral home.
