Ruby Cox, 90, of Paducah, died on Sunday evening, August 27th, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Ruby was a retired nurses aide in the nursing home industry. She was also a member of the original Gospel Mission Church. Ruby dearly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and embroidery.
Ruby is survived by seven children, Terry (Linda) Culp of Reidland, Ronnie (Sandy) Culp of Michigan, Tim (Judy) Culp of West Paducah, Bridgette Scott of Paducah, Laura (William) Hall of Paducah, Mary Prater of Lone Oak, and Christopher Fires of Calvert City; numerous grand children and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Morris Burkhart; four husbands, Virgil Culp, Belfield Broaddus, Orville Fires, and Robert Cox; one son, Mark Culp; three brothers, Lexie Morris, Freddy Burkhart, and Eddie Burkhart; and two sisters, Eunice Tynes and Maggie Bennett.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening, August 30th, 2017 at Wice Memorial Baptist Church from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 31st, 2017 at Wice Memorial Baptist Church starting at 2pm with Rev. Brian Hodge officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
