Samuel T. Bailey, 97, of Paducah died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
He was a retired pipefitter from Local 597 of Chicago, a World War II Army Air Force veteran and of the Lutheran faith.
Surviving are four daughters, Debra Bailey of Paducah, Diane Petkunas of Oswego, Ill., Karen Nelson of Dewey, Ariz., and Barbara Wilks of Coeur D Alene, Ind.; two sons, Kevin Bailey of Orland Park, Ill., and David Bailey of Paragould, Ariz. ; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hope V. Bailey; two sons, Gary Bailey and Jack Bailey; four brothers; and two sisters. His parents were Samuel T. Bailey and Clara R. Wilfong Bailey.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at New Sweden Lutheran Chapel in Lockridge, Iowa, with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. Burial will follow at New Sweden Lutheran Cemetery in Lockridge, Iowa.
Kinzey Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
