Stephen Meyer

Stephen K. (Jeb) Meyer, formerly of Grand Rivers, KY passed away on January 27, 2015 at the home of his sister, Mary E. Meyer in Carthage, NY under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.

Stephen was born in West Carthage, NY on January 22, 1954 son of Harold and Grace Chisamore Meyer. He graduated from Carthage Central School in 1973 and joined the Army. After proudly serving his country for 20 years, Stephen retired from Fort Knox, KY in 1994. He then held various jobs in Kentucky, including gas station attendant, auto parts salesman, groundskeeper for the KY State Parks system, and a laborer for Reed Resources.

A marriage to Constance Fuller in 1973 ended in divorce. He married Mina Loffina Bewerman on July 18, 1993. Stephen was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed taking leisurely drives and spending time with his family. He loved snacking on cheese curd and Croghan bologna.

Stephen is survived by his children, Brian and Heather Meyer, his grandchildren, Shauwna, Brandan, and Jayvon Meyer and a great-grandson Dominick Lafler all of Auburn, NY. Stephen has four step-children, Jennie Reynolds, Robert Thea, John and Floyd Madden residing in Kentucky. Also surviving Stephen are six sisters and two brothers, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Stephen was predeceased by his parents, his wife Mina, and a Step grandson.

Burial will be on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11:00am at Tiline Cemetery.
