Sue “Mema” Arant, 78, of Paducah, passed away Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Sue worked for a number of years at Hillman’s Ferry and Canal Campground. The outdoors was her happy place. She spent time glamping at the campgrounds with her husband, Paul, surrounded by nature and the wildlife she loved dearly. Sue also enjoyed fishing. She and Paul traveled and made many fond memories in their numerous destinations. Sue was family oriented and always held her children, grandchildren, and friends close.
Sue is survived by two sons, Mike (Karmelin) Arant and Steve Arant; four grandchildren, Rachel (Justin) Coursey, Carly Arant, Carson Arant, and Matthew Evans; two great-grandchildren, Jaymes Coursey and Ashlynn Evans; and many other loved ones.
Preceding Sue in death is her husband of 56 years, Paul Arant; her parents, Elton and Velma Hughes; three siblings, Kenneth, Janice, and Betty; and one great-grandchild, Abel Michael Coursey
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Lindsey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or to the National Wildlife Federation (nwf.org).
