Susan Dawn Elkins

Susan D. Elkins, 60, of Metropolis, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Baptist Health Paducah with her family by her side.

Susan worked at Dixon Spring’s Correction Facility where she retired as a counselor. She loved fishing, going to arts and craft shows, and spending time with her family.

Susan is survived by her son, Jonathan Huckelberry of Metropolis; one sister, Sylvia Johnston of Metropolis; ten nieces and nephews, Dorothy (Tom) Busclas of Brookport, Lisa Dow of Metropolis, Mike (Angie) Parmer of Metropolis, Kelly Parmer of Metropolis, Zachary Lavallier of Brookport, Sandy (David) Quimby of Metropolis, Jessie (Alex) Hodge of Calvert City, Tommy Hodge of Burna, Emily Parmer of Brookport, and Hannah Parmer of Brookport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Whitnel and Laura Elkins; one sister, Shirley Parmer; and one brother, John Elkins.

A memorial visitation will be on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at St. John’s Church, 6201 Waldo Church Rd, Metropolis, IL, from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
