Thomas Earl Carnes Sr.

Thomas “Tom” Carnes, 65, of Paducah, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Mercy Health Hospital.

Thomas retired from the river as a captain and a jack of all trades. Anything he set his mind to he learned and practiced until it was a perfected skill. When he wasn’t woodworking or crafting, he could be found outdoors fishing,

Thomas is survived by three children, Casey (John) Carnes, Thomas Carnes Jr., and Brandy Baker; four siblings, Thomas Lee (Charlotte) Norwood, C. L. Norwood, Michael Norwood, and Olivia Davenport; ten grandchildren, Destiny Baker, Kelsey Baker, Lillian Baker, Leslie Baker, Gabriel Carnes, Bradlee Carnes, Autumn Carnes, Weston Magness, Clayton Magness, and Madison Magness; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Thomas in death are his parents, James and Bobby Jean Carnes; and two siblings, James Douglas Carnes and Deborah Carnes.

Thomas will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
