Thomas V. Bateman

Thomas V. Bateman of Mayfield passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Baptist Hospital in Paducah where he was surrounded by his family.

He was born and raised in Diamond Springs, California. He then moved to Kentucky in 1967 with his family. Thomas was a spontaneous get up and go Jack. He also coached baseball and softball. He was a member of the El Dorado, CA Miwok Tribe. Thomas was retired from Union Carbide (USEC) where he worked for 30+ years.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Lola (Rogers) Bateman of Mayfield; daughters Tamara (Mark) Castleman of Paducah, Terri (Mark) McDuff of Ione, CA, Tonna Bateman (Jodie Taylor) of Willard, MO; one stepson, David Chalker of Mayfield; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way; two brothers and two sisters all from California.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bateman and Hester Thomas; one step daughter, Alice Adams; three brothers, and five sisters.

He will be truly missed by family and friends. He will be cremated and no service will be held per his wishes.
