Waffrieda Lovan (Merrell) Zipse

Waffrieda Lovan Zipse, 80, of Paducah passed away on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Mrs. Zipse worked for Jean’s Clothing downtown Paducah and was a member of Rosebower Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, and gardening in her spare time.

Surviving are one son, Michael Gerald Lovan of Hendersonville, TN; three daughters, Patti Strader of Calvert City, Monaco Gribbins of Hendersonville, TN, and Angela Lovan of Madisonville; two brothers, Paul Merrell and Ray Merrell of both of Madisonville; eight grandchildren, Justin Underwood, Jenista Magness, Christin Inman, Blake Lovan, Cassidy McClain, Michelle Troupe, Courtney Griggs, Alexandria Lovan; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Lovan; and her second husband, Rolland Zipse. Her parents were Chapman and Mossy Merrell.

Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Sunday September 24, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Mason officiating. Burial will follow at the Salem Cemetery in Mortons Gap, KY.

Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
