Wayne Elliot Young

Wayne Elliot Young  2/20/1936 – 2/23/2018

Today, February 23, 2018, our family had to say goodbye to our “Little Buddy”, “Pops”, “Chief” and most of all “Best Friend”.  Wayne had a heart of gold for both family & friends. He died at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Kentucky.

Wayne served 20 years in the U.S. Army, participating in Special Forces and was a longtime shooter and gunsmith with the Army Marksmanship Unit in Fort Benning, GA.  Wayne also retired from the State of Alaska School System.

Wayne was born to Juanita (Magarado) Young & Cloyd Young in Harlan, KY.  He is survived by one sister Eleanora Young of Mesa, AZ.  Two sons; David W. (Shirley) Young of Wasilla, AK. And John W. (Susan) Young of Paducah, KY, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

Wayne is preceded in death by his most loving “red head” wife Armilda Jo (May) Young, brother Charles E. young and sister Barbara J. (Young) Hart, two sons Robert C. Young and Bruce A. Young.

Wayne’s remains will be laid to rest with his wife in Indiana, his sons in Alaska and Arlington National Cemetery.

Private Family Memorials will be held at later dates.
