William "Bill" Lawrence Blatzer

William “Bill” Lawrence Blatzer, 80, of Paducah, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Bill was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 1, 1943 to the late Lawrence and Mary Blatzer. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.

Bill and Joyce married in 1976 in Southern California and enjoyed living there for 36 years. They enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, and socializing with friends. They relocated to Paducah, Kentucky in 2012 to be with family. Bill was an avid car collector. He was fun-loving and had a great sense of humor.

Bill has left behind his wife of 47 years who will miss him so much; his daughter, Judy Hecker; his brother-in-law, Tim Windbigler; his brothers, Edward Blatzer and John Blatzer; nieces, Becky, Pam, Susan, and Beth; nephew, Eric; and grandchildren, Kevin Jr, Christopher, and Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Blatzer; and his in-laws, Fred and Bernice Windbigler.

A memorial mass will be held in his honor at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Father Gary Clark officiating.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Community Kitchen (1237 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Paducah KY, 42001)
