William "Bill" Monroe Ross Jr.

William “Bill” Monroe Ross Jr., 54, of Metropolis, IL passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Massac Memorial Hospital.

William was a self-employed business owner and real estate agent. He attended Waldo Baptist Church in Metropolis. He enjoyed playing golf, go cart racing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandbabies.

Surviving is his wife of 11 years, Rita Ross of Metropolis; his mother, Brenda Ross of Calvert City; three children, Brett (Julia) Ross of Calvert City, Erica (Blake) Housman of Melber, Alec Ross of Sharpe; one stepson, Joel Prather of Mayfield; one sister, Michelle (Collin) Cline of Calvert City; seven grandchildren, Keaton, Talon, Adley, Charleigh, Tucker, Jaysonn, Axell; two nephews, Nicky Cline and Cameron Cline; and one great-niece, Oakleigh Cline.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Monroe Ross Sr.

Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah with the Rev. Trad York officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart Cemetery in Dexter, KY.

Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
