Willie Paul Cornwell, 71, of West Paducah went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 17, 2014 at his residence.
Mr. Cornwell was a retired diesel mechanic of thirty years from Walkers Boat Yard. He was a member of Ohio Valley Baptist Church in Ballard County. He enjoyed horseback riding, caring for his livestock, and especially his Boston terriers.
Surviving is his wife, Mary B. Cornwell of West Paducah; one son, Paul Chip Cornwell of Paducah; one daughter, Laura Kay Cornwell of West Paducah; one brother. Thomas Fleet Cornwell of Independence, LA; one sister, Jettie Fay Buckingham of West Paducah; five grandchildren, Paul H. Cornwell Jr. of Jackson, TN, Manuel Paul Schiment of Badhersfield, Germany, Ashley Mae Long of Greenville, TN, Amanda Renee Dixon of Paducah, Faith Hope Cornwell of Paducah; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Bill Cornwell and Dessie Waltmon Cornwell; and his first wife, Donna Ruth Green Cornwell.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Sunday October 19, 2014 at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Revs. Randall Green and Glen Crowen officiating. Burial will follow at Palestine Cemetery in West Paducah.
